The Gentlemans Press: Knowledge Assembly Tonight at 8PM

/ Comments (1)

As young founders of a letterpress company, Shian and Michelle will take participants through an introduction of the letterpress, explore its vain appeal, and discuss the challenges of building a business based on what many view as a dying trade. Witness a letterpress in action as they demonstrate why the tactility and the quality of print achieved through letterpress surpasses any other printing method. Arguments will be made for how being invested in nostalgia has its own value, as well as how letterpress still has room for innovation and collaboration with other art forms, such as illustration. This session is ideal for designers, artists, writers and anyone with interest in traditional arts and crafts.

Topic: Let’s go with Letterpress
Speakers: Shian and Michelle of The Gentlemen’s Press
Where: Kennel, 8D Dempsey Rd, #03-03
When: Wed, 5 September
Time: 7-9pm
Fees: Free, open to public
